Jalapeno Cheddar Sourdough Bread 

A warm crusty loaf with just the right amount of heat and richness - perfect for slow mornings or shared meals.

Ingredients

• 500g bread flour

• 350g water

• 100g active sourdough starter

• 10g salt

• 1–2 jalapeños, diced

• 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

 

Instructions

In a large bowl, mix water and starter until combined.

Add flour and salt, mix until a shaggy dough forms.

Cover and rest for 30 minutes.

Perform stretch and folds every 30 minutes (3–4 rounds).

Gently fold in jalapeños and cheddar.

Let dough rise until doubled.

Shape and place into a floured banneton.

Refrigerate overnight.

Bake at 450°F in a Dutch oven for 20 minutes covered, then 20 minutes uncovered.

This loaf is one we come back to often — simple, comforting, and full of flavor. It’s just as good fresh from the oven as it is toasted the next morning.
